Many of us are surprised to read that Mangrove received viewing figures of only 1.2 million who watched the feature length opener. Apparently Mangrove was BBC1’s lowest new drama launch of the year so far.
It was up against the opening episode of ‘I’m a Celebrity’ which peaked at 12 million viewers (10.9 million average).
Mangrove was probably the greatest work that Steve McQueen has ever made, and there’s still 4 more to come.
We have three weeks to correct this:
