Vybz Kartel Breaks out of Prison!

Vybz Kartel the self styled ‘World Boss’ has broken out of jail along with six other prisoners in a daring move. Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer was being held for a string of murder and weapon charges since earlier this year. Reports are coming in that Kartel instigated a riot at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre and managed to take a police guard at gunpoint before escaping from the institution.

One police guard died of a heart attack during the escape, while 12 others were injured. Reports state that two people were shot with guns smuggled into the prison, before Kartel and the other escapees stole clothes and car keys in order to get pass prison guards. At approximately 1:45am, the convicts made their way to a pickup truck outside the prison which helped them to escape. The Force Commissioner of the Criminal Investigations Branch has confirmed that Vybz is on the run and that he and the other escapees are now on Jamaica’s most wanted list.

Will Kartel survive this latest stunt? Where do you think he will go? How long will this last?

*Update* The Jamaican Observer is reporting that the stories reporting that Kartel has escaped are false! Assistant Commissioner Les Green is quoted to have said: “I know nothing about that. If that had taken place I would would certainly have known.” Green has also dispelled rumors of any fatalities or injuries at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in relation to an escape plot.

Hmmm. What will be next on the Vybz Kartel Show? Be sure to check back on CaribDirect for the latest!
