The University of the West Indies (UWI) provides a ficticious reassurance of how young individuals of society, those from poor homes and bad communities can only obtain good life if they obtain a degree. You see getting a degree means getting a job which further means obtaining a better life.
I beg to differ. Most employers take students with postpraduate degrees. What will happen to the rest of us I will totally agree with everyone, an education is important to secure a better life. However, there are those with an education, but cannot see the ” better life” due to the fact that they cannot obtain a job.
This is UWI and the Government’s ficticious reassurance:”get an education, get a
job, get a better life”. I say HA!!!!!!. They put us between a rock and a hard place. Or shall I say they provide a cosmetic solution to poverty.
I wish someone would disagree with my statement and provide me evidence that would allow me to change my perception. I highly doubt that this will happen.
