Trinidad and Tobago Village Trade Exposition and Business Forum Event

London, July 17, 2012. The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary of Independence on 31st August 2012. To mark this great occasion, the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission in London will be mounting a Trinidad and Tobago Village which will include a vast range of activities to promote the two islands. The Village which will be located at the Tricycle Theatre, 269 Kilburn High Road  Kilburn, London NW6 7JR, will open to the public on July 26th and close on August 25th, 2012

The Trade and Business Division of the High Commission will host a Business Forum on July 26th 2012 to officially launch the Trade and Investment component of the Village activities.  The High Commission is delighted to proactively support the development of networks and linkages and carry out its remit of Trade Facilitation.

A host of noted speakers will address delegates at the Forum, including Mr Jeffrey Williams from the UKTI, Cristina Banuta from the European Commission, Mr Howard Kroch Honorary Consul for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Hamburg, Mr Carlos Wharton, Senior Trade Policy Advisor at the Caribbean Export Development Agency, as well as Dr Nigel Williams and Mr Denis St Bernard from the Caribbean Enterprise Network.

Invited guests will include members of the Trinidad and Tobago business community, members of UK Trade and Industry bodies, UK business persons from various sectors, distributors of Caribbean products and individuals who have expressed an interest in doing business with and in Trinidad and Tobago.

The morning session will cover a range of topics relevant to members of the business community including:

v  Doing Business with the United Kingdom

v  Doing Business with Europe

v  The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)

v  Internationalising Caribbean Enterprises

v  Capitalising on Market Opportunities

The evening session will focus on doing business with Trinidad and Tobago and highlight thriving businesses from our twin island state. A Caribbean Council roundtable is also planned to end the day; followed by a comprehensive question and answer session and a reception wherein attendees can network extensively.

A rolling Exposition will be held from July 25th to August 25th where top Trinidad and Tobago brands like Angostura, Chief Brand Products and KC Confectionery will display their products. BPtt and Caribbean Airlines will showcase their services. Small and Medium Entrerprises like Caribbean Specialty Foods, CoffeeLatte and Agi Premium Pepper Products will also be exhibiting. The Exposition will offer sampling opportunities, as well as the chance to purchase products on display.

The popular Galindo’s Ice Cream will be offered for sale upon entry to TT Village and a wide array of foods is available for both connoisseurs of Trinidad and Tobago’s cuisine, as well as those less familiar.
