To Fur or not to Fur

So; much to our sadness it seems that our Indian summer is well and truly over. It’s high time that our Toms and espadrilles were tucked away and left to collect dust, until sunshine strolls around again.
No more skinning out it’s time to get all wrapped up!

But just because the weather is gloomy this most definitely does not have to be reflected in your wardrobe. Prints, furs, colour; this Autumn/Winter you can do it all! According to trend reports for fall 2011, don’t afraid to be bold, mismatch prints and layer, layer, layer!

Most notably or should I say my guilty pleasure being, oh so controversial fur; from high street to catwalk fur is back! This winter I highly recommend furring it up. Either in the form of smalls pieces such as: the detachable fur collar and the classic fur hat, or why not go for a more statement look with a full fur coat. Needless to say as the fur creeps in, so do the ethical issues around killing off innocent little rabbits, just so we look good. But not to worry faux fur saves the day! Achieve the luxury look on a clear conscience =)

If fur’s not your thing it is almost essential that chunky knits are a key-piece for you this season. A slightly granny-esque feel to it, knits are in! From skirts, to leggings, to jumpers and my fav the poncho.
Shopping on Boxing Day  or off to the cinema with the girls ; layer a poncho over a bold cable knit jumper and some leggings. Military boots, Hunters or UGGs will complete this look. Comfy, warm but most importantly still stylish.
Out to dinner; need to be a little most smart/casual butt you don’t feel like freezing to death? Try a knitted pencil skirt with a long sleeved turtle neck jumper. Accessorize with a fur hat and a pair of bold platforms.

Stay warm. Stay dry. Stay hott.
