The Teacha has finally chosen his pet but not without some drama of course. This is the pet mansion after all. This episode was extended past the usual one hour to about two and a half hours (21/2). Hence, there was one round of elimination, expelling two girls leaving two, from which he chose his pet.
The first elimination was determined by a two part challenge. In the first challenge, some apples were placed in the backyard which the girls were to search for. Trini and Cany, both from Trinidad, found the most apples, then Tia. Salem found none. Her excuse was that she cannot search for what she had not put down, as she is not a thief.
For the second challenge, the girls competed in a ludy game, which apparently is Kartel’s favourite game. The two girls from Trinidad had no clue how to play the game. Therefore despite, Candy throwing a lot of sixes (6s), she could only manage to place second behind Salem. Tia was third in that part of the challenge and Trini placed last. When both scores were tallied Candy won the challenge overall. After that challenge, Trini and Salem were eliminated, leaving behind Tia and Candy.
On the night of the elimination, there were two fights. Salem came through on her promise to kick Tia’s ass whether or not she (Salem got eliminated). As soon as Salem found out that she (Salem) got eliminated, she began taking her shoes off. As soon as Tia realized her butt was on the line she ran away from Salem. She ran throughout the entire yard. Many persons including me were shocked to see the great Tia running away from a fight.
The other fight was between Tia and Candy. Apparently, Candy got her butt kicked as well and ended up in the hospital. However, I have no idea what happened in that fight as it happened so fast and there were no brewing conflict between them, as was the case with Salem and Tia.
Now to the ultimate Teacha’s Pet. To the surprise of many, Kartel actually picked Tia. Persons were surprised as she is being called a transgender female, as she is just not very refined and femme.
All in all, Teacha’s Pet got a good run. We need more of this kind of entertainment in Jamaica. Kartel, it seemed was hinting at the possibility of other reality show starring himself, saying fans can probably look forward to Teacha’s Kids or Tia and Teacha. However, with the fate of his freedom unknown, we just have to wait and see.
