To launch their new company, Noir International is having their first Best of Black British Business Expo on Sunday 28th September 2014, to celebrate the end of “BUY BLACK” weekender.
Noir International is following in the footsteps of NAMD, based in Philadelphia, and is asking the community to support local black businesses on the 27 & 28th September 2014. NAMD has had major success in running “weekenders’ for the past 14 years called ‘BUY BLACK’. This is now the opportune time to start replicating that success in the UK through this launch event being hosted by ‘Noir International’.
Carol Cato, the CEO of ‘Noir International’ said “We must continue to celebrate black businesses and it is time to let our neighbours (fellow communities) know who we really are and what we can do to help others whilst making a valuable contribution. We need everyone to ‘get out there’ and seek out our local African / Caribbean businesses and show support regardless of where they are based, be it on your local high street, online or production from home.
The aim of this Expo is to encourage and embrace African / Caribbean businesses, be it support groups, training and employment, as more effort is needed to help them increase their visibility, create more business opportunities and becoming more profitable as well as the financial independence to invest in other projects”.
Noir International wants to encourage our community to ‘BUY BLACK’ where we can. Why not buy something for your neighbour like a book by a black African / Caribbean author, maybe purchase some home cooked African/Caribbean food. Why not invite others out to a cinema, run and lead by our African / Caribbean groups to watch a black directed and cast movie. Go to our website http://noirbusinessdirectory.com/ , download our flyer and spread the word.
One of NOIR International’s goals is collaborate with as many Black Businesses, to form a co-operative that will give it the financial buying power to negotiate keener prices from suppliers that would help us to compete on a level playing field with other non-black businesses. In addition what NOIR also aims to do is provide a platform for our entrepreneurs, both new and existing, to access support and expertise in areas such as customer service, marketing, sales and business development. We will create opportunities for networking to help facilitate the exchange of ideas, products and services for all businesses registered with the company.
Carol Cato also said: “I believe the time is right for Black Businesses to come together to empower and support growth and success of Black people across the Diaspora.”
Be part of the “Best of Black British Business Expo”, exhibit your worth, invite others to attend, make a difference… Get involved.
