Yves Renard – Facilitation and Management Consultant

The Government of Saint Lucia has created a ministerial portfolio dedicated to the creative industries, with the ambition of developing these industries into a vibrant economic sector.

The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries has been assigned the portfolio, and I have been asked by that Ministry to assist with the development of a policy and strategic framework for the creative industries sector.

I am presently gathering views and recommendations from individuals who have specific interest and experience in the sector, and I would greatly appreciate your input, as well as your assistance in making sure that voices from artists and other professionals in the diaspora are taken into account in this process.

I therefore encourage you to share this CaribDirect.com link and request with others who would be interested and willing to contribute.

At this stage, contributions can be made in two ways:

  • by responding to a short questionnaire that can be accessed HERE
  • by sending an email (and documents) to [email protected]

Following this consultative process, which also involves the review of documents, a number of focus group sessions and individual interviews, a draft policy will be prepared and circulated for comments. I attach a short paper that has been prepared as a background to current discussions.

I thank you in advance for your assistance.

With best wishes.

Yves Renard
