Streetfootballworld’s Festival 16 will bring together 500 girls and boys from disadvantaged communities from all over the globe, chosen not for their skills on the pitch but rather their commitment to changing the world through football. At the core of the event is an exciting football3 tournament – a unique way of playing the game that incorporates key life lessons into every match. Educational workshops and cultural workshops will also feature prominently, enabling the young participants to develop new skill sets and apply them in their local communities.
The streetfootballworld organisation is headquartered in Berlin and is an international network of non-profit organisations that use football to engage young people and teach them life skills. It connects grassroots initiatives and amplifies their impact working with 100 organisations from over 60 countries that use football to tackle issues in health, education, gender equality and more. Sacred Sports Foundation (SSF) was accepted for membership in 2013 and remains the only member of the network in the English speaking Caribbean.
The festival will take place in the heart of Lyon and will be jointly organised by Sport dans la Ville and streetfootballworld.
This will be the biggest Youth Forum organised by this global network ever and is a unique lifetime opportunity for the Canaries native, which will see her participate alongside youth leaders from around the world all expenses paid!
Ms. Longville is expected to present a workshop on child safeguarding, an area she has assisted Sacred Sports Foundation with during her programme efforts with the Foundation.
