Held at the Pontins Southport the weekend begun with a warm welcome from the RMP Promotions organisers who promised a safe weekend filled with fun.
As usual security was tight and the atmosphere was brilliant as ACE comedian MR Cee (aka the conscious man of comedy) took the large gathering through several comedic paces leaving guests in stitches with his crafty humour and clever management of an audience participating music contest.
Later that evening guests emerged from their chalets dressed in emergency services outfits of all descriptions, Firemen and women, SWAT teams, Doctors and nurses, CIA agents, Soldiers and so on. The dance hall looked like a major accident threatening national security had just happened!
What was particularly interesting about the atmosphere was the care guests took to look the part as the ladies strut their stuff in the sexiest versions of the emergency services attire demanding the men stare and gawk. But the men were not to be out done as they came out looking officious, authoratative and in control…the way most women like men in uniform.
There were loads of activities planned for the Saturday including swimming, aerobics with Ewan, salsa with Sharky DJ, go carting, outdoor sports activities, 5 aside football, dominoes and a high energy fitness session with professional fitness trainer Decarlo.
Those more interested in the history of the Atlantic Slave Trade or Middle Passage were able to join an organised coach trip to the International Slavery Museum.
That evening guests were treated to a line up of sensational artistes including Penny and First Impressions; Bashiyra; Tippa Irie; Blackout; Glenda Jaxson and Kevin J the prince of Urban comedy. The show was hosted by Geoff Schuman.
What followed was the long awaited Burlesque theme night. Guys and gals came out in some magnificant attire that had the place popping! The women were absolutely gorgeous and the man were definitely out to impress. There were gansters, pimps, players and as for the women you be the judge…
Sunday, the final night was Toga theme night and was a total knock out…the outfits were straight from Rome as all looked regal, stately and of a time long forgotten.
The DJ line up was impressive with soundsmen such as Mr Mighty, Gal Flex, King Tubbys, New Winner Roadshow, MJR, Nasty Boyz, Nightlife, Ice Entertainment, Delroy P, Roberto Allen, DJ Scotty, JB Crew, Mistri, Special Touch, Hyper ESQ, 5th Avenue, Highlife, MC Brownie Rockers, Back To Basics, and Capricorn.
