Members of Windrush19 in collaboration with The Hackney Archives, will be reading 6 extracts from the Celebrating Windrush 2024 calendar on Wednesday 17th Jan, 6.30pm – 7.30pm via zoom.
The calendar is the 5th offering from Windrush19 who formed the same year following their representation of the Windrush Arrival at the London New year’s Day Parade.
It was important for the group to continue the celebration, promotion and education around the Windrush generation and their contribution to the UK. The working group (who are all artistic professionals in their own right) have now formed a strong working bond and have set targets to achieve the aim of preserving the contributions of the Windrush population and their diaspora’s to the UK Society.
Windrush19 consists of six core members and a wider contributory membership of six people. Six of the overall members are senior citizens.

Funding has been secured in partnership with the Hackney Archives via the Community Chest to deliver the online event.
