Following William and Kate’s not altogether tranquil visit to Jamaica, Belize and the Bahamas recently, it is ever so encouraging to see reparations movements in other islands across the religion disrupting Buckingham Palace’s best laid plans for visits of other royals. For those of us who live here under the canopy of state racism and Afriphobia, the anachronism of those paternalistic colonial visits could be more stark.
