Pastor of the Sweetes Wesleyan Holiness Church Olsen Daniel said the occasion was well represented by quite a number of persons who turned up with their families.
According to the pastor, the march was not aimed at predicting any sort of doom on the country but rather to remove negative influences plaguing the society.
“This was not a prediction, and what we did was that we know the significance of numbers and what the enemy is capability of doing, so at those gates we established the law of God to prevent the enemy from causing any destruction.”
Apostle Frederick Forbes of the All Saints Pentecostal Church told The Daily OBSERVER that the men of God achieved what God had sent them out to do on the 11/11/2011.
Forbes said there were so many things that happened on that particular day, hence the reason for the men of the cloth to take control to intercept any evil or ill-will that would have affected the country.
“God sent us to the different entrances of the city to take control and declare that the gates be lifted up to the Lord of Host, which is Jesus.”
He adds that he also sensed a shift in the spiritual atmosphere of the nation.
“We truly believe a shift has taken place and we have accomplished the vision that God has given to us.”
The Prayercade commenced at the Antigua Recreation Grounds at 3pm on Friday, and concluded with a service of Thanksgiving.
During the parade, stops were made at the different intersections, which were specially anointed with a combination of oils from the participating churches.
According to the organisers, this is critically important, as the crossroads are known as gateways to other things than the work of the Lord.
A number of Christian men within the society were also chosen as gatekeepers to establish a covenant at these intersections as the church seeks to “take back the reins of the country through unity and strength.”
