Partygrenada.com says Thank You

Please allow me a space in your respective publications and on your websites where available to express my sincere thanks to the people who made partygrenada.com’s 2012 Carriacou Carnival trip a success.

First let me begin by expressing my heartfelt appreciation to the following sponsors: Courts Grenada Ltd, Fit for Life Health Club, Dodgy Dock, Chopstix Chinese Restaurant, Grenada Distillers Ltd (Clarkes Court Rum), The Grill House, Rush-TV, Island Catering and Smirnoff Vodka for the support given to the partygrenada.com team. Without the support of these businesses, the partygrenada.com team would not have been able to cover the various aspects of Carriacou’s Carnival for a fourth straight year.

This year Carriacou saw an increase in the number of persons visiting Carriacou’s Carnival and not only was there an increase in visitors, but there was also an increase in the actual participation of events held, especially the Monday Night Mas and Parade of the Bands. It is in this regard we say thank you to all who travelled from mainland Grenada to Carriacou between Thursday February 16th – Monday February 20th, 2012 especially to those who supported the “real Jab Jab” Excursion aboard the “Amelia A3;” those who travelled by air and to the people of Petite Martinique and the Grenadine Islands who travelled on private boats.

It is important to note and acknowledge the participation of the kids in the Shakespeare Mas which we understand came from the Mt. Pleasant Government School. To the Principal of the Mt. Pleasant Government School, Ms Mary Noel job well done. It was indeed a pleasure to see the increased participation of the young ones in the Shakespeare Mas.

To the Carriacou Carnival Committee, Grenada Cultural Foundation, Rawle Paterson, Hon. Elvin Nimrod, Senator Arley Gill, Linton Lendore, Dexter Lendore, Dexter Leggard, Angus Steele, the staff of Osprey Lines, Ms. Leslieann Calliste of the Townhouse and George Matherson of Jiggers Entertainment, we say thank you for your respective roles played. To the Staff of Sisterisle Radio and GIS thank you for the collaboration with partygrenada.com (Audio, Video and Commentary) which enabled us to Video Stream the Dimanche Show LIVE Online. To all the radio station personalities who supported the artistes from the Sisterisle by playing their music thumbs up to you and we encourage you to please share you patriotism with the other DJ’s and radio Personalities who seem to have forgotten that Carriacou is our Sisterisle..

To the members of the Royal Grenada Police Force in Carriacou thank you once again for ensuring that there was law and order during celebrations. Your random security check points, foot patrols and searches were highly appreciated. However, we recommend that the searching of arriving passengers should be done from Grenada end so as to avoid the congestion on the dock.

Despite the little hiccups here and there, in our view Carriacou’s 2012 Carnival was a success and the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique should all be proud of yet another incident free and well attended carnival.

Finally, Partygrenada.com takes this opportunity to congratulate all the winners of the various competitions held during the Carriacou 2012 Carnival Celebrations especially to “Shortpree” who, for the first time in Carriacou’s history, took the 1st and 2nd position in the Road March race with his two songs “Carnival Journey” and “Can’t understand” (middle ah town). Again, thank you all; and we hope to see a strong contingent coming from Carriacou for Grenada’s Carnival in August. The Monday Mas photos have already been posted on our website www.partygrenada.com and more photos will be posted within the coming days. Video clips will also be posted on our youtube page youtube.com/partygrenada
