Murder Suspects Caught

Three men who were wanted in a Lewisville murder have been extradited back to Denton County and will now face capital murder charges.

Tyron Negale Jenkins, Julius Kal Smith and George Walker Jr. were arrested Christmas Day in Sharkey County in Mississippi. Sharkey County deputies, members from the Anguilla Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation participated in a stakeout, which resulted in the arrests. The three men and one more suspect were arrested on capital murder charges for the Dec. 20 murder of Lewisville resident Trevor Matthew Kronbach.

“During our investigation, we developed probable cause and issued warrants for the men.

Also during our investigation, several people told police that the three men had fled the state,” said Capt. Kevin Deaver. “We issued a national BOLO (be on the look out) and enlisted the help of the Lawrence, Kan. police, which is where the suspects were believed to be from.”

Deaver said the suspects took a relative’s vehicle and that relative reported it stolen. The vehicle was equipped with OnStar, which led Mississippi police to the suspects at an Anguilla home of a relative of two of the men. All three men waived extradition following their arrest.

“Throughout this investigation, we have been actively pursuing leads. The capture of the suspects who fled was a combined effort of the U.S. Marshals, the Lewisville Police Department, Sharkey County and the Anguilla police,” Deaver said.

Deaver said a fourth suspect was arrested shortly after the murder. Markell Oneil Hardy is accused of killing Kronbach during the commission of a felony and is being charged with capital murder. Hardy is being held in the Denton County Jail pending the posting of a $250,000 bond. Deaver said Hardy was located as he walked out of the Inn Town Suites in Lewisville. He was taken to the LPD where he was interviewed.

The four men are all believed to be part of Kronbach’s murder. Deavers said at approximately 12:30 p.m. Dec. 20, Lewisville Police were dispatched to a report of a person having been shot at the Park Lake One apartments located at 1901 Lakeview Circle. Officers found Kronbach deceased in the apartment with a gunshot wound.

So far, the investigation has revealed that several weapons belonging to the victim had been taken from the apartment. The LPD also learned that the suspects were all associates of Kronbach. Detectives recovered the stolen weapons from a friend of Hardy.

“All the suspects have now talked to investigators,” Deaver said. “The next step is the grand jury hearing.”
