The Jamaican men featured in this story will certainly change your perception of the inner city of Jamaica’s capital, Kingston.

While we often hear more words than see more actions, there are people who are stepping into the front lines to bring about change-positive changes in Jamaica.

These are the stories of the Violence Interrupters. The former gang members who work on the frontlines of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Jamaica, dedicating their lives to ending violence in their communities.

These Jamaican men may not fit your everyday picture of corporate success but they are doing something that will certainly change the lives of Jamaican kids in communities affected by violence.

The Peace Management Initiative is a UNICEF-supported non-profit working to end gang violence Jamaica-wide.

The Peace Management Initiative (PMI) was established in 2002 and uses alternative dispute resolution methodologies to treat with communIty based violence.
