News of the couple’s split broke when Russell announced that he was filing for divorce on Friday after speculation had been mounting all week becuase they had spent Christmas apart and were not wearing their wedding rings.
Now The Sun claims that 23-year-old Ri-Ri, who organised 27-year-old Katy’s hen night, has reached out to Katy and offered her a shoulder to cry on.
A source told the paper: “Katy is hardly speaking to anyone right now, but she called Rihanna as soon as she heard Russell was filing for divorce.
“Katy was embarrassed about calling her parents as they’d been so against Russell in the first place, but Rihanna was a great support for her and she really helped to calm her down.
“When Rihanna told her the news, she suggested flying down to Barbados to stay with her and her family.”
However, The Mirror had the story slightly differently, with Rihanna suggesting a girly break to Mexico together to cheer Katy up.
And continuing our rumour roundup, the Daily Star has quoted a source as saying that 36-year-old Russ is now considering moving back to the UK.
The paper’s mole said: “He would be keen to move back to Britain as he needs a fresh start.
“It’s a terrible time for him and despite his growing fame in America, he wants to cope with it by being back on home turf.”
