Caribdirect.com would like to introduce our exciting new network: Caribdirect links. Caribdirect links was formed to encourage and involve young, creative and ambitious minds!
Whether it’s in the creative arts, journalism and news sector or culture and lifestyle we welcome productive and inspiring contributions from individuals under 30 years old!
We hope to create an environment that nurtures and facilitates the talents of young Caribbean students from all over the world thereby making Caribbean news. Let us publish your work, graduation memories, pictures, stories of achievements to encourage others and build a strong network of culture and youths representing the Caribbean.
Our first contribution comes from the students of Wesleyan University. They conducted the Westfest Fashion Event.
According to Opraha Miles one of our young Caribdirect links: “The Wesfest Fashion is an annual student run event that allows students to showcase their passion for fashion.
Students are encouraged to be creative, be themselves and have fun!” This year, Opraha Miles (Jamaican) along with Genelle Faulkner (Jamaican) and Fritzlaine Roche (Haitian) featured a line titled “Crochet Couture”.
In a unique combination of crochet creations and chic, elegant fabric, the trio was able to rip the runway with style like none other.
