It is understood that Fletcher has been in Dominica for several days practising with his Caribbean Premier League team, the Windward Island Volcanoes. Manager of the Volcanoes, Lockhart Sebastian, told the online news outlet that he was aware of the arrest and will give Fletcher his full support.
“I will support him, I will not abandon him … that is the job of a manager,” he remarked. He said Fletcher was leaving the island when the incident occurred.
He is expected to appear in court soon. Fletcher last played for the West Indies in a T20 match against South Africa in January. Article courtesy NB/Dominica News Online
