The London Elite Forum in collaboration with Bubbles VIP has brought 40 Black Britons to Ghana for a familiarization tour dubbed “Back to Our Roots”.
The Back to Our Roots tour seeks to open the minds of the Diasporas with culture, historical, business and investment opportunities that exist within the Africa continent.
The maiden edition was in Gambia 2008, and since the year 2009 till date, Ghana has been the major destination for the Back to Our Roots tour.
“Most Africans suffered from the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade many years ago, but others have the notion that the continent of Africa is their only true home hence the need for them to return with their experiences and skills gained from the West and Europe to assist development,” a statement from the Forum said.
Speaking exclusively to authoritative Caribdirect.com, the founder and Director of London Elite, Erran Warden said some British-born national and Diasporas are seeking an alternative place to establish themselves other than the United Kingdom, Europe and America but often do not have the know-how or contacts to fully explore overseas opportunities.
“Through the international network, partnerships established will assist by offering advice, guidance expertise and acquired knowledge to assist in getting charitable products, business ideas realized,” he said.
According to Warden among the aims of the programme are to facilitate learning and self development, provide training and create opportunities for young and upcoming entrepreneurs and professions to develop both in the UK and abroad.
“The Forum is currently establishing an international network that will enable members to gain access to social, cultural, business and investment opportunities outside of the UK”.
Most of these Black Britons either had their roots from the other parts of the Caribbean such as Jamaica,St. Lucia, Dominica, Grenada, Dominica Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba and was their first time in the country.
