Blacken Your Diet

We think about green foods all the time but did you know that black coloured foods are just as nutritious? They are loaded with health-promoting compounds which may help lower the risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer.

Black seeds are nutty and with several black varieties they have higher antioxidant activity than their white counterparts, a 2016 study discovered.

Do you like garlic? All garlic contains allicin, a compound linked to heart heath but black garlic isn’t as strong as white garlic so give it a try if you don’t like the strong flavour.

Experiment how to use them; they can be sprinkled on toast, stir-fries and sauces.
