In line with their vision to make Anacaona a cultural and wellness focused resort the Ricketts have made significant improvements to the resorts gardens, adding a wealth of indigenous and exotic fruit trees including Sour sop, Golden Apple, Sugar Apple, Ginips, Mangoes and lots and lots of local lime trees for their guests to pick and enjoy as they walk the grounds. They have also planted a large herb and vegetable garden for use by their team of chefs headed up by Shawn “Fresh” Hodge.
For the new season – Anacaona will be adding an exciting activity to its popular entertainment programme. “The Night of the Dance” is a new dance themed evening which will consist of a 3 course set dinner to be enjoyed whilst watching Anguilla’s Premier Dance Troup – Klassique – perform a specially devised show. The performance will be followed by more music from a DJ and the opportunity for guests to join in the dancing and if they wish to learn Salsa, Merengue and other Caribbean dance forms with an instructor – something completely new in Anguilla. “The Night of the Dance” will happen every Monday night (from the 14th November) and continue weekly throughout this tourism season. Reservations from 7.30pm and the dinner price will be $55 plus taxes.
The Hotel will continue to run the very popular Thursday night Anguillian themed Buffet and entertainment evening with the Mayoumba Folkloric Theatre – taking guests “back in time to Anguilla’s past using song and dance”, for a price of $45 plus taxes. Both evenings are open to non-residents. It is also possible to enjoy the entertainment from Anacaona’s attractive Bar area – there is a cover charge of $15 per person and this includes 2 drinks.
Delroy Lake the General Manager of Anacaona is excited about the upcoming season and cautiously optimistic for the island. He is happy to announce he ran Front of House training over the summer break and has recruited a number of key Anguillian senior staff who will be joining their very loyal existing staff to help Anacaona “deliver the service our guests deserve”.
Sue and Robin Ricketts have long worked in the Luxury Tourism Sector in Anguilla and are famously known for their involvement in the success of both Malliouhana and Cap Juluca – but are really enjoying the different challenge of bringing a smaller, boutique hotel to the forefront of Anguilla’s tourism offer. They are proud of their mainly Anguillian team – headed up by Anguillian General Manager Delroy Lake. Robin says “We want people to know that the small “charming escape properties” are also well run, comfortable, full of beauty, consider health and wellness, are packed with activities and offer wonderful relaxation options for any guest that is looking for a truly authentic Anguilla Experience”
