Next Thursday, February 9, 2023, the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC), in collaboration with the Caribbean Policy Consortium (CPC), will host the webinar “CARICOM Relations with the UK-EU.” This webinar will examine key dynamics of contemporary EU/European-Caribbean relations, the impact and implications of Brexit for the region, and crucial partnerships between Canada and the Caribbean. Moreover, the session will consider actions and promises by some Caribbean nations to delink from the British monarchy and pursue republican status. Notable here is the recent move by Barbados and conversations to that effect that have begun in Jamaica and some Eastern Caribbean countries.
