So
The ‘Clarkes’ singer was granted J Million bail today by the Supreme Court, after an application by his attorney Tom Tavares-Finson was approved. The attorney decided to take the case to the Supreme Court after a prior bail application for Kartel was denied last month. HOWEVER, this does not mean that Kartel will be back on the streets any time soon as he is still facing charges on an additional murder case, as well as weapons and drug charges.
The deejay, real name Adidja Palmer is facing prison time along with fellow Portmore Empire artist Shawn Storm and graphic/clothes designers Calvin Haye and Cayro Jones over the murder of a Gaza affiliate Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. The men will have their bail applications considered for this case December 2nd in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
Reports have also surfaced that the Jamaican authorities are seeking to question Gaza’s first lady Vanessa Saddler, otherwise called ‘Vanessa Bling’ and ‘Gaza Slim.’ The police have said that they have been trying to contact Saddler, but have been unable to thus far. She has been asked to report to Police personnel at the Constant Spring Police Station by 12 noon tomorrow.
Madness! Is everyone from the Gaza going to be implicated in crimes? We’ll have to see how things pan out!…Surprisingly, Kartel’s right-hand man and Portmore Empire protege Popcaan has managed to steer clear on any police attention. The artist dubbed the Gaza’s ‘Prefect’ is currently enjoying a wave of success with a string of summer hits. Speculation has risen over the artists status in relation to the Portmore Empire, but Popcaan has been vocal about his support for his mentor, dubbing Kartel a ‘role model.’
