Community news. The live event saw special guest announcers the young award winning Vox Africa TV presenter Fernand Frimpong Jnr and actress Letitia Hector from hit web series Venus vs. Mars reveal the nominations at the Vox Africa Studios in London.
The categories; UK Screen Craft Achievement Awards, People’s Choice African International Screen Awards and UK Screen Awards celebrate the diversity of British and international talent across the film and television industry.
Actor and director Bill Duke (known for his roles in Commando and Predator) will receive the award for Outstanding Contribution. Whilst the late comedian and actor Felix Dexter; will posthumously receive the Edric Connor Inspiration award.
Honorary awards will also be bestowed upon classic works, Do The Right Thing, The Cosby Show and Desmond’s.
Voting for nominees in all categories open to the public will take place from 12pm, 23rd January until 12am, 20th February with public voting categories accessed exclusively via the Screen Nation website.
The nominations were streamed live on Screen Nation and Vox Africa websites as well as via social media on Google Hangouts, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

The 9thScreen Nation Film & Television Awards takes place on Sunday 23rd February 2014 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London.
The star-studded ceremony will be hosted by the hilarious comedian Ali Baba, aka the Godfather of Nigerian comedy, and Caroline Chikezie, the gorgeous Hollywood based actress and newest star of the iconic 24 series starring Kiefer Sutherland.
