ARGUMENT:
The United Kingdom is replete with talented, skilled and semi-skilled Caribbean descendants wanting to serve their ancestral homeland. On the other hand, Caribbean governments have been wailing constantly about the effects of the ‘brain drain’ that impedes development…The talent of the Diaspora needs to be harnessed for regional development.
GOAL:
To engender discussion between Caribbean governments and the 3rd and 4th generation UK Caribbean Diaspora on employment, trade and investment opportunities in the Caribbean.
OBJECTIVES:
- To enlighten the Caribbean Diaspora on the opportunities for employment in the Caribbean;
- To apprise UK based Caribbean entrepreneurs on the opportunities to expand to the Caribbean;
- To demystify the process of applying for Caribbean citizenship and naturalisation
- To examine trade and investment opportunities in the Caribbean
