What: Update on Mas Domnik – Nature Island Carnival Band participation in the Notting Hill Carnival.

Why the Band’s Name Change: DUKA as the registered charity and not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee has decided to introduce “Nature Island” to emphasise the Sustainability, Friendly, and Nature elements of the Band.

Are we participating: The DUKA Management Committee is planning for its culture project, Mas Domnik – Nature Island Carnival Band to participate in the Notting Hill Carnival on Monday 29th August 2022. We have been provisionally offered two vehicle passes and seeking financial assistance to participate in Europe’s largest street Carnival.

What’s the theme: The shortlisted theme for on *Mas Domnik – Nature Island Carnival Band* in 2022 is ”UNMASKED”.

Who are our Designers: Our Designers, K’Dee Designs and Sacafete London have been informed if the Theme in order to generate ideas. We aim to facilitate the participation of Masqueraders by minimising the cost of the costumes whilst not compromising on the quality.

What about the Music System:
We are discussing requirement to ensure that a robust and sufficiently powerful system is hired.

What about the DJs*: The Planning Committee is reviewing the selection of DJs and Masqueraders are invite to suggest new DJs for consideration by texting contact details to +447712894518.

What about Catering: The Planning Committee is reviewing the selection of a suitable high quality Caterer.

What about Transport: The Planning Committee is arranging transport for Masqueraders travelling from our East London Mas Camp to the Carnival and return.

What about Security: The Planning Committee is reviewing the selection of Security and Stewarding providers for selection to ensure that our Masqueraders have a pleasurable experience throughout the parade.
