Ras Kwame is a British musician, record producer, radio DJ and presenter. He started in the music industry as a club DJ playing hip hop, R&B and reggae in the early 1990s. During that time, Kwame took control of the turntables for artists such as Gang Starr, Public Enemy, Wu Tang Clan, London Posse and the Fugees.

Kwame’s production work via his M-Dubs (UK Garage) and Orange Hill (Dancehall and Reggae) monikers has seen fruitful collaborations with the likes of Kano, Vybz Kartel, Sneakbo, George The Poet, Busta Rhymes, Busy Signal, Tyga, Demarco, Lisa Mercedez, Fatman Scoop, Mr Eazi, Stylo G, RDX and Cecile, over the years.
With a radio career that’s taken in lengthy stints with BBC 1Xtra (100% Homegrown – 2001 – 2011) and BBC Radio 1 (Ras Kwame on Radio 1 – 2005 – 2013), succeeding the legendary broadcaster John Peel’s show on BBC Radio 1, Ras currently presents his new show brand ‘The Reggae Recipe’ on Sunday nights on Globals’ Capital Xtra featuring the freshest dancehall and reggae with guest mixes and interviews with established and rising talents and personalities on the scene, everybody loves a bit of reggae!
