Twenty-nine year old Wendel George is from the island of St Lucia. His story is one of hard work and inspiration.
Eight years ago, George graduated from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College with an Associate Degree in Travel and Tourism. He also holds a Certificate on Quality Management Systems from the St Lucia Chamber of Commerce.
George has always been a hard worker. After graduating from college, he worked as a private waiter organizing private candlelight dinners. He also worked as a porter and behind the bar where he learned to make drinks. When an opportunity arose, George took the Bellman position at Sandals Resorts where he got the chance to interact with hotels guests and share his knowledge of St Lucia.
Always looking for opportunities to grow professionally, George moved to the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) as a trainee. This position offered him the opportunity to serve on several committees, represent SLHTA at various meetings and attend events in St Lucia and abroad. Currently he is Projects Coordinator at SLHTA, a position that was specifically created for him.
Then in 2016, Wendel took another step, this time starting his own business, Portable Swimming Pool Rental while keeping his position at SLHTA.

And what does the future holds for George? Judging from what he has accomplish so far, the sky is the limit. George hopes to become a certified Project Management Professional. In terms of his business venture, this year George expanded into other recreational activities.
This young man continues to be a professional and an entrepreneur. He is truly a success story.
