Home African Caribbean St Lucian Comms Director fired for ‘difference of opinion’

Two days after presenting a petition to government aimed at encouraging the creation of a Sex Offender Registry, Communications Director of Zandoli International, Norbert Williams has been dismissed.

Williams said this information was communicated to him on Wednesday morning via email. He said the decision was made based on a “difference of opinion” between himself and the organisation.

While he has expressed surprise by the move, Williams said he will not disclose any further information as he feels it should not be allowed to play out in the public domain.

The former Zandoli executive said he has served to the best of his ability and will continue to speak up for victims of rape and sexual abuse, so that they receive the justice that they deserve.

Apart from meeting with Minister of Health and Human Services Alvina Reynolds and other officials of the ministry, he also appeared on television and radio talk shows to discuss the proposal.

Zandoli International Foundation in a press statement on Wednesday morning informed the public that Williams is no longer associated with the organization in his former post as Communications Director.

“ZIF would like to thank Mr. Williams for his hard work and dedication while serving with our organization. We wish him the best in his future endeavors,” the short statement said. Article courtesy http://www.stlucianewsonline.com
