PLOT:

“KUWTJ: The Movie” is centred around the fictional Jones family (father Irving, mother Angela, daughter Tracy and son Nathan) who became famous after featuring in a TV reality show.

Life is going well but when the Joneses are kidnapped at a family picnic, all seems to be lost. But hope is at hand when Angela’s brother and three of his friends from a local institution go on a mission to save them.

Including all your favourite characters from the TV series, this comedy-thriller is well scripted, filmed and sympathetically portrayed – thrills and laughs abound!

KUWTJ: The Movie is the first Caribbean film cinema premiere in the UK for 2014 and the first full feature film from Barbados to be shown in an official (BFI registered) cinema.

The film also demonstrates the new and progressing standards of film-making emanating from the Caribbean.

When the KUWTJ series first aired on television in Britain in May 2013, it was the first series from the Caribbean shown on British TV for 20 years and the first ever from Barbados. The series has been so popular on TV (satellite and cable) that episodes have been shown continuously (every day) since 13 May 2013.

KUWTJ: The Movie will have its UK premiere in Birmingham at 7pm on Thursday 20 March at The Drum Intercultural Arts Centre.

KUWTJ: The Movie will have its London (main) premiere at 6pm on Thursday 27th March at the Picturehouse Cinema in Stratford.

A discussion will be held after each screening where it is anticipated that members of the cast and crew from Barbados will be in attendance to answer questions from the audience.

An accredited press preview screening is also being planned for Wednesday 19 March.
