First of all I am going to ask all my male readers to calm down and hear what I have to say first before I am crucified! Now ever since Beyonce released the “controversial” song “Who runs the world… Girls.” I have experienced and witnessed a lot of heated debates in good humour of course, among my male and female friends.
Therefore, I think it is now time for me to adjudge a winner to this circular topic. And the winner is… well let’s hear their strongest points first.
In proposition of Beyonce’s controversial song, we have the females. They are saying YES girls run the world. This is so because at most tertiary institutions especially in the Caribean females have the majority numbers. Thus there are more educated females than males.
Also, in the household there are more female headed households and if a man is present he is not as active as the female in the rearing of the child. Therefore, they are the ones in charge in the home. Thus girls indeed run the world; matriarchy is on the rise. Hence patriarchy is dying.
However, in opposition we have the boys who are forcefully saying, Hell No!! Girls running the world is just a fantasy by the females to give the boys a good laugh. Boys are the defenders of empires and transporters of honour. They are in fact the protectors of females, thus it is ridiculous for the protected to want to rule the protector.
So, females have majority numbers in tertiary institutions that is a plus. But who have majority numbers in parliament, where it really counts? Who are more likely to be Chief Executive Officers and Mangers? Well, the managers will need more than one secretary thus their tertiary education will become useful.
There are more female headed households, well they belong in the home anyway. Thus that is not a big thing.
Now that we have seen their strong arguments, I will now declare the winner to be both! Yes, both men and women run the world, we complement each other. No job is more valuable than another. There… the debate has ended.
Wrong! This debate will never end. I say both men and women run the world, what do you say?
