Participation in the Commonwealth Diaspora Investor Survey

Dear Fellow Jamaicans,

As you are aware, the Government of Jamaica has been seeking to actively engage the Diaspora in Jamaica’s long term development plan through, among other things, the encouragement of trade and investment from the various Diaspora regions globally. In this regard, the High Commission is collaborating with the Commonwealth Secretariat, as well as six other Commonwealth countries in the conduct of a  flagship Diaspora Investor Survey. The survey is completely anonymous and is being managed by ComRes, an Independent Market Research Survey Company.

The main objectives of this Diaspora Investment Survey, which will complement the Government’s efforts to promote Diaspora investment in Jamaica, is to, among other things, establish the preferred financial products of the Diaspora and to identify issues which may discourage or prevent nationals from investing in their home country. It will also facilitate information sharing that can assist Jamaica in becoming a more attractive, friendly, transparent destination for doing business, as well as assist in determining incentives and programmes to increase Diaspora investments.
