Not very often do Caribbean nationals find themselves the centre of attention at the world famous Cannes Film Festival a.k.a (Le Festival International du Film de Cannes). None other than the effervescent, charismatic and supremely fashion conscious Vincent McDoom was the focus of the Paparazzi at the premier of KICKBACK earlier this month.

St. Lucian to the bone Vincent has distinguished himself in film as a TV celebrity, a model and Russia, France, Poland and Germany Next Top Model judge. Vincent who is very passionate about all things Saint Lucian has dedicated his life to promoting the island abroad and supporting local causes and therefore should be considered a ‘Goodwill Ambassador for Saint Lucia.
Equally patriotic is veteran events management expert Darby Etienne who is also Saint Lucian and a childhood friend of Vincent. Darby is celebrating his 50th on Friday 3rd July in fine style under the theme, Darby’s Big Birthday Bash’ and has invited Vincent as his guest of honour. Vincent has accepted and confirmed his attendance and is expected to thrill the over 200 guests on the luxurious boat, “Tereza Joanne” moored at King George V Dock. with his charm and warm presence.

This special birthday celebration hosted by the renowned JD Douglas is expected to showcase the talents of local entertainers, Figaro and Natia while the highlight of the evening is billed to be Saint Lucian entertainer, Mr Borballist himself “JAUNTY” backed by the ever popular Shawn Caribbean Band and Friends. Guests are in for an additional treat with the opportunity to secure selfies with actor / model Cecilia Marquis. Attendees will be delighted to know they’ll be dining in the company of the High Commissioner for Saint Lucia Hon. Ernest Hilaire along with Liberal Democrat member Ashburn Holder.
The crown of the evening’s presentation will be the carefully crafted Saint Lucian Sunset Dinner from 8pm sharp. Following the formalities, house DJs Mosty, Dizzy, Rickman, VJ, Zouk Beat and TC Fords will lay down the latest Caribbean Zouk, Soca, Reggae, Jungle and more till late.
