In Diaspora Business News. Much has been said about the need for African Caribbean SME’s (Small to Medium sized Enterprises) both in the Caribbean and the UK to collaborate for their collective benefit, an exercise easier said than done.

There are many theories circulated attempting to explain the reason or reasons why African Caribbean business fail to work together for mutual prosperity like their Asian, Jewish and other more enlightened communities.

Well in spite of this troubling state of affairs a couple of ambitious forward thinking women, Theresa Edward, Managing Director, Simplified Business Services and Kathleen Harris-Leighton, CEO GenIsis Utilities Limited organised and successfully delivered a Business Networking Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support at the Holiday Inn Westfield Stratford City last Friday 27th September 2013.

The event which started promptly at 8am saw participants from an impressively diverse commercial and entrepreneurial background, individually offer a brief description of their respective businesses before immersing themselves in serious networking and business card exchange.

Of the many guests were Janet Hope from the Family Guild; Nnenna Anyanwu from The Business & Computer Consultancy Limited; Olive Guillais-Lazure from POWORDFUL; Yas Mistry from IP Solutions Communications; Dolores Rice, Notary Public and Dr Vilma Brunhuber, Integrated Nutrition and Health Coach, to name but a few.
