Dear Fellow Guyanese,

The Government of Guyana in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are inviting entrepreneurs from the Guyanese Diaspora to submit applications for the “Go See Visits 2016”. This initiative is a component of a Regional Project for “Effective and Sustainable Diaspora Engagement for Development in the Caribbean”, which is being implemented in Belize, Jamaica, Guyana and Suriname.

The Go See Visits 2016 will provide entrepreneurs of Guyanese origin residing overseas with an opportunity to visit Guyana in January of 2017, to explore prospects for establishing small and medium-sized businesses in their home country based on an assessment of the major sectors.  This initiative will also help to establish networks and create opportunities for new and innovative entrepreneurship initiatives, including those geared to increase employment in low income communities in Guyana.  A total of ten (10) overseas Guyanese entrepreneurs will be selected under this initiative.

The Regional Project is aimed at complementing each Governments efforts to engage their respective Diasporas by helping them to tap into human and financial resources available within home and hosts countries through specific initiatives such as the Go See Visits 2016. This project will compliment the Government of Guyana’s efforts at Diaspora engagement by facilitating the transfer of skills and other resources to develop key sectors and to provide opportunities for investment to the Diaspora.

In this regard, the Ministry wishes to forward herewith a copy of the brochure consisting of the relevant information and criteria for the ‘Go See Visits 2016’ for your information and reference.

It would be appreciated if you could, through your respective organisations and associations  assist in advertising, publicizing and encouraging applications from the Diaspora. The deadline for applications is December 15, 2016.
