The UK government has given to Local Authorities money for rent and mortgage arrears which have arisen due to covid. This money can also be used to prevent evictions from going ahead. Were you furloughed? Did you lose your job during this time? Did you have covid and it affected your work/pay? Were your hours cut hence your pay reduced? Please approach your Local Authority’s homeless team and ask whether they were allocated the funding. It is called “Contain Outbreak Management Funding.” It is a very large pot of money and it all has to be spent before the end of March 2022. All payments are made direct to your landlord or mortgage company.
