Entertainer Beenie Man mourns death of grandmother

Kicking off the new year with a myriad of ebullient performances in Bahamas, Costa Rica, Guyana and Panama; Dancehall icon Beenie Man gleeful days have been overshadowed by gloom following the untimely passing of his grandmother late last week.

Beenie Man‘s grandmother, Ms Doris Ferguson Stewart more affectionately known as ‘Dar Dar’ or ‘Gloria‘ passed away in her sleep on Thursday, February 22 at approximately 3 am, she died of a heart attack. The entertainer upon receiving the news rushed to her home and is deeply saddened by her sudden passing.

Beenie Man

The iconic entertainer shared a close bond with his grandmother who was 91 years old at the time of her death at her home in Cattawood, Shoeberry District, St. Elizabeth. 

Following the revelation, a seemingly grief-stricken Beenie Man was unable to speak at the time but the family is asking members of the media, entertainment fraternity and the wider public to respect his privacy and that of the family as they grieve the loss of their beloved relative.
