The calendar features dogs from the 2011 dog show as well as dogs available for adoption from PAAWS.
It also contains dates for all Antigua’s important social events. The calendar has been described as a must have for 2012 and all proceeds from the sale of the calendar go towards helping PAAWS Animal shelter continue its work.
The organisation has been severely hit by the tough economic times and “survival has become an increasingly difficult challenge,” proprietor Nora Nedden was recently quoted as saying.
She said adoptions from the shelter and donations have decreased dramatically over the past several years.
Earlier this month, PAAWS launched a public awareness campaign in an effort to revive public interest. It includes print, radio and television ads that encourage the community to adopt from the animal shelter or become a member of PAAWS.
The organisation has performed numerous rescues and found homes for over 900 dogs.
Annual membership is 0. Donation boxes are found in Jolly Beach Epicurean and Jolly Beach Gift Store. Donations can also be received at PAAWS Shelter in Parham open every day from 10 am to 4 pm. PAAWS can be contacted at 460-3667 and [email protected]
