On the heals of the current devastation by hurricanes in the Caribbean the Caribbean Enterprise Network UK (CENUK) a UK based Caribbean Diaspora network which focuses on establishing local, regional and global strategic alliances to create enterprise and growth for the Caribbean region has now brokered a global strategic partnership with one of the world’s leading heritage tourism organisations, Cumbria Tourism (CT) and the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO); which has the potential to create real development and growth for the Caribbean, cited Dr. Nigel Williams, a Director at CENUK.

CENUK has a track record of quietly making things happen re strategic initiatives over the last 10 years starting with the 2007 Cricket World Cup which was hosted in the Caribbean, to forging linkages with the Caribbean Stock Exchanges and the London Stock Exchange, to creating MOUs with the Ja MSME Alliance, JSE, SBAJ, piloting and evidencing Diaspora Enterprise Hubs in Bog Walk St. Catherine, Barbados and now using it’s trusted kite mark and brand to undertake it’s biggest initiatives to date, Dr. Williams asserts.
The heads of CT and CTO will be fleshing out this dynamic Partnership on the 20th of this month in the Lake District, both heads have already expressed great optimism re the benefits of this global marriage.
CENUK Director of Operations, Denis St.Bernard also stated of interest the following:
– Both have lots in common, both ravaged by historical storm / flood damage
– Both have global appeal re their tourism products
– Both are not totally aware of each others offerings
– Its like an Ebony and Ivory story, which has world appeal
– The win / win offerings from both sides to foster new growth and enterprise is very exciting from the introduction and leveraging of Caribbean Carnival Events on one hand to the practical transfer of experience and know how rebuilding a world heritage product and enterprise on the other.
