Caribbean news. Carriacou and Petite Martinique to hold Community Meetings on Funding Opportunities to cope with the effects of Climate Change.
Members’ of community groups, associations and organizations of Carriacou and Petite Martinique are invited to a very important meeting to discuss a new stream of funding for communities to enhance their ability to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change.
All community groups are welcome whether you are a formalized / registered group or not to discuss the issues affecting the sectors of agriculture, fishing, tourism, health, water, education and awareness, marine and coastal, livelihoods and others.
These meetings will be held in Carriacou and Petite Martinique on the following Days:
- 1. Carriacou
Meeting date: Monday 22nd, 2014
Time: 4.00pm – 5.30pm
Venue: Carriacou Resource Center, Hillsborough
- 2. Petite Martinique
Meeting date: Tuesday 23rd, 2014
Time: 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Venue: Petite Martinique RC School

Background Information:
The meeting is being organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), along with the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (MALFFE) and the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs (MCPMA.
Through the project entitled “Programme on Integrated Climate Change Adaptation Strategies (ICCAS)” in Grenada which is being implemented jointly by UNDP, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (MALFFE) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).
This project is aimed at increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities and ecosystems to climate change risks in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique
