Home African Caribbean Caribbean businesses to network in London City

Caribbean news. Award-winning CaribDirect Multi-Media announces the birth of its flagship project, CaribDirect International Business Network (CIBN).

This initiative in association with Prometheus Solutions and IsisMas is the logical follow-up to the many successful business seminars, Diaspora News In Brief video interviews and ‘The Caribbean and You’ radio shows on www.colourfulradio.com each Monday morning, delivered over the past few years.RBW logo

The considerable database of Caribbean entrepreneurs and businessmen and women amassed through our many programs make it a commercial imperative that we create a sustainable platform for our members and others across the UK to benefit from monthly discourses, lectures and presentations aimed at improving participants’ knowledge, understanding and ability to trade effectively within and outside of both the Caribbean and the United Kingdom.

We have partnered with Rockstar Business World, a division of The Rockstar Mentoring Group, the UK’s Number 1 mentoring organisation for entrepreneurs looking to grow or raise finance. Their mission since 2007 has been to achieve measurable goals for businesses at the SME level, Established and Start Up level.

Rockstar fast track profit growth and investment by providing experienced and successful mentors who have sold their own companies for an average of £18 million on a one to one, face to face basis.

This partnership will allow CIBN members to benefit from FREE Rockstar membership; access to Rockstar Mentors / Coaches; access to Rockstar start-up loans and private funding; and witness testimonies from Rockstar Mentees on the benefits they derived from the Rockstar mentoring program. We have planned the theme of each event to be around a particular Caribbean country. We hope to have Caribbean High Commissioners and Overseas Territory Representatives open each event with a short presentation on the health of their respective country’s economy followed by presentations by key UK government officials, Caribbean tourism officials and agencies with an interest in the development of the Caribbean. Prearranged ‘elevator pitches’ will be conducted followed by a period of networking.

The aim of CIBN is to provide a sustainable and scalable platform for Caribbean and British businesses to pitch their wares to a captive and keen business audience in a Caribbean themed environment in the City of London. It is also intended to hone in on the investment priorities of Caribbean nations with a view to sourcing credible investors to meet with Commercial or Trade Attache’s to discuss opportunities.

The launch of CIBC is scheduled for Thursday 13th March 2014 at the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission at 18:30hrs. Admission FREE.

The first CIBN will take place under the St Lucia theme on Thursday 10th April 2014 at the elegant Impact Hub King’s Cross, London. High Commissioner for St Lucia H.E Dr Ernest Hilaire is expected to deliver opening remarks and a brief report on the state of St Lucia’s economy. Admission £10.00 for CIBN members – £15.00 non-members.

Theme Timetable

There are opportunities for businesses to obtain presentation space and branding at each event. These events will be video recorded and filmed for Television.
