About the Jubilee Award
The Royal Photographic Society has partnered with the Royal Commonwealth Society to run a unique 2012 Award for the Commonwealth – the Royal Photographic Society Jubilee Award.
You are invited to submit a photographic piece to the Jubilee Time Capsule (JTC) for your chance to win in this special award to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Click here for more info.
The prize
The prize for the top winner of the RPS Jubilee Award is:
- A trip to London in Autumn 2012 to be present at a prestigious event with high profile guests where the very best entries into the JTC will be sealed and celebrated.
- A 4 day photo essay project in London, with skills building workshops, visits and photographic activities (expenses covered).
- Mentored by RPS photographers until Spring 2013 to produce a collection that will then be drawn together into an exhibition in your home country and in London to celebrate the ‘Connecting Cultures for the Jubilee’ theme.
How to take part
Enter an image, or a selection of images, into the JTC relating to a day in the last 60 years which was important to you, your family or your community.
Entrants to this special award can be of any age and from any country. The image(s) must be tied to a date on the JTC timeline from 6th February 1952 until present day and must be about one or more of the 54 Commonwealth countries. From community celebrations and local history to earth-shaking world events, no subject is too big or small!

Deadline
The deadline for submissions to the RPS Jubilee Award is midnight GMT 30th September 2012.
