One of Britain’s promising Black British actresses Misie Goode won the Ms Elegance UK 50+ Beauty Queen 2022. Here is her story…
My name is Misie Goode I am 52 years young with a beautiful daughter who has left the nest many moons ago. (When we go out we obviously look like sisters).
MY STORY
I was presented with the information about Ms Elegance UK Beauty Pageant  2022 by a friend but decided not to enter. I was later scouted when I attended AWSL MUSIC AWARDS 2022 by Gloria Griffith, the pageant’s coordinator. I then thought it was meant to be and so I entered.
I had so much going on in my life personally including being part of a 3 woman show with 12 characters to learn and to execute within 4 weeks during the same time.
I had issues growing up about how pretty I was being the darker skinned in my home and being a ‘Tom Boy’.
Growing older in life I became more aware of my Creator and the importance of knowing and loving self.
I entered the pageant with the mindset to represent Africa, even though My Queen was born in Trinidad and my King was born Jamaica (RIP Daddy). I felt I had to acknowledge and respect my Ancestors as many were taken to the Caribbean.
Now I have been crowned Ms Elegance UK 50+ Beauty Queen 2022, I feel beautiful, overwhelmed and ready to help African women to know and love thyself too, as healing is very important and needed in our community and must be addressed.
MY SHORT BIO
I appeared in a couple of magazines in the past including K & K Bridal Magazine for Woman of Colour.
