I
But I don’t know how else to explain the striking similarities between Lara and Bravo, and it is becoming a bit spooky right now.
We are familiar with the fact that they share similar physical characteristics and that they are both from Trinidad and Tobago. Also, Bravo plays for the local club that Lara used to represent. I am fine with that nothing out of the normal.
Bravo has similar batting style and follows through as Lara. I am fine with this too, because Lara was a famous cricketer and a lot of youngsters would want to emulate his style and technique.
However, where it gets a bit “interesting” is the fact that after twelve test matches Bravo statistics mirrors that of Lara’s statistics after his first twelve matches. That is after twelve test matches; they both have scored 941 runs at an average of 47.05, with eight scores over fifty runs.
However, the only difference is where Lara scored one hundred and seven in his first twelve matches, and Bravo has so far scored six fifties and two hundreds in his first twelve matches.
This information is totally incredible and if I did not have the facts then I would not have believed them to be true. I mean from Bravo first started playing cricket he has always been compared with Lara, and now he is imitating the achievements of Lara in his early stage of test cricket.
I am not saying that their similarities is necessarily a bad thing, it is just a bit curious. Therefore, is this divine intervention in an aim to restore West Indies Cricket to its once glory days? Is there going to be more contemporary cricketers sharing similar styles to our past great cricketers? OK, so this is just wishful thinking, but is it totally impossible in light of these developments…
I will say one thing though… if Bravo continues to emulate Lara’s statistics, then great things lie ahead for the region’s team.
