There’s been a lot of controversy in this ‘likkle’ island ever since same sex marriages have been approved in 50 states of the United States of America. Religious folks have been voicing their opinions like never before and the reactions have all been a bit spicy and even shocking, for instance, one comment read “that 8/10 Jamaicans were bi-sexual”.
Now whose mouth fell when they read that? A few people even supported this comment. It is known due to our so-called homophobic nature, many have been “undercover” but to state that the masses swing both ways is a bit baffling. One would wonder if we really are homophobic or it’s all in our minds. Society plays a hypocrite of its values as talk doesn’t particularly translate to actions. Maybe it’s time we all just shut up.

If this statement has any truth to it then one can only conclude that one’s spouse is a bit bent if he/she hasn’t fully been around the corner. And then the question arrives, do you really know who you’re sleeping with? This outrageous statement raises all kinds of doubts or maybe even confirms some. Soon you’ll be going over every detail of your relationship and seeing things you never saw before – an extra swing of the hips when he passes by a handsome guy, a little smirk when the bar is full of males…Is he really cheating on you with another male?
If there’s any truth to this statement then our “homophobic” nature has been fooling us all. Maybe it’s time we open our eyes so that we can see which doors aren’t closed.
