This treatment caused West Indians to become demoralised, despondent and home sick. However, the success of the West Indies cricket team around the world proved to be a significant force of inspiration that the team carried the burden of West Indians everywhere to continue to succeed in the hope that West Indians would win respect and better treatment from white people.
