Well we are pleased to introduce you to a man who has dedicated his life to the development and promotion of West Indies cricket; Mr Sted Wallen. Originally from the island of Jamaica, Sted was brought up in Birmingham England and has been an avid follower of the sport of cricket. So keen was he that he not only met many of the cricketing stalwarts of the 80’s he succeeded in managing the great Sir Viv Richards for many years.
But what has largely attributed to Sted’s international recognition is his Birmingham Annual Sports & Culture Day (BSCD) which he founded and successfully managed for over a decade. This spectacular event billed for Sunday August 26th this year, sees cricketers old and young; famous and unknown playing before an audience of thousands of spectators from the West Midlands, London, all around the UK and international visitors and celebrity cricketers.
Though a very humble and modest man, Sted has admitted his greatest achievement was the production of the award winning and now famous ’75 Years of West Indies in Test Cricket’ in 2004 with Channel 4. Sted is also one of the producers of the popular and exhilerating, ‘Fire In babylon’ movie sweeping through the UK and the world at the moment.
Sted promises to bring his exceptional knowledge, experience and cool insights of cricket to this section which will be shared with cricket lovers all over the world.
