Introducing a new public consultation: Black Voices on Policing. The consultation is part of a key commitment in the Mayor for London’s Action Plan: an overhaul of community engagement and scrutiny structures to ensure that London’s diverse communities are better represented.

Over October Black Thrive and PSi (thepsiapp.com) will host meetings in person and online for Black communities to explore the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the current model/s of community-led engagement and scrutiny, and co-produce with communities, a blueprint for a new, more effective and representative framework for local engagement activities. We have also launched a call for evidence survey.

Black Thrive would very much appreciate your support with raising community awareness of the consultation. We would especially appreciate support to spread the work of the Concerned Parents Gathering, scheduled for Saturday 22nd October. More information about the gathering can be found at the microsite: blackvoicesonpolicing.com.

The link below takes you to a community awareness kit which has the key messaging and graphic assets (fantastic illustrations from Zainab Sanyang a young Black artist) that you and your teams can use to spread the word. Please encourage your communities to go to the microsite: blackvoicesonpolicing.com to see the events and have their say as part of the consultation.

Please let me know if you need any more information to spread the word about the events. I am more than happy to provide different social assets or have a call to help.

Best regards,
Georgie
