Not very often do movie premiere’s turn into carnivals. Such was the case when Nollywood movie Shattered Hearts premiered at the Odeon Cinema in Greenwich, London three weeks ago.
The splendour of the guests and patrons was amazing as outfits ranged from maxi dresses to sexy mini skirts for the ladies and three piece suits to elegantly casual outfits for the guys.
Written and produced by Tolulope Yesufu, Shattered Hearts is a triangular love story reflecting the lives of three people. It’s full of romance, suspense and drama with a very strong moral message.
Bosun (Anthony Monjaro) is a charming, hardworking and serious minded cab driver who happens to be in love with an obsessive and free spirited lady Bukky (Fatima Jabbe) who happens to be an only child surrounded by bad influences and spoilt by her dad.
The stars of the film including Gambian former beauty queen Fatima Jabbe, Zafaa Awards nominee 2012, as Africa’s best lead Actress for her role as Bukky in this film; and Anthony Monjaro came out dressed in vibrant colours and looked radiant to the delight of the large waiting crowd.
Other members of the cast included Amour Owolabi, Titi Jacobs Aseroma, Rita Edochie, Helen Osabutey,Tunji sotimirin, Tyna sonuga, Margaret Opara, Iyabo Odebode-Molade, Tope Brass, Hilda Tola Nevoh, Amazing Grace and new comer actress Theodora Ibekwe, founder of Miss Elegant International beauty pageant.
Director Lanre Balogun was on hand to support his cast for a job well done and spoke to the press about his insights and aspirations for the movie.
The atmosphere of the evening was ideal for this movie premiere as the great weather set the tone for a spectacular red carpet presentation as the cast and crew paraded down the red carpet in regal fashion after alighting from a stately looking stretched Limousine.
Yes, the cast and crew of Shattered Hearts were certainly treated like the stars they are on the night they were being presented to the world for a captivating and riveting film production. All should see this film!
